A while back I received this email about breast implant illness. It completely blindsided me! As an OR nurse, I had occasionally seen reactions to this type of implant (for that matter, any implants), but it never entered my mind that this condition could be so widespread or so invasive.
I wanted to share this information with you because a lot of the symptoms of breast implant illness are the same symptoms that sufferers of Meniere’s disease experience.
As I read through the email, the question that I kept asking myself was “Could there be a connection?”

“Hello Karin,
I hope you are well. I have been a follower of your group for many years. You have helped me manage my Meniere’s Disease for quite some time with your useful information and tips on the Vitamin regimen which I have been using faithfully since you told me about them.
I remember you always told me to find the “root cause” of what I may think is causing my Meniere’s disease symptoms but I could not really figure it out. I drastically changed my diet, exercised and protected my ears. However I still had bouts of vertigo, hyperacusis and tinnitus. I could somewhat keep it under control.
I know that you are a nurse. I recently joined a group on Facebook “Breast Implant Illness and Healing by Nicole” back in November last year. I believe there are over 200,000 women who are on this group. I have read story after story on “Breast Implant Illness”.
- This is Nicole’s website; Healing Breast Implant Illness Society of North America
Breast implant illness has recently been recognized by the medical world as an actual illness.
It causes Vertigo and Tinnitus. Women who have “explanted” and taken the breast implant out have seen amazing results with their symptoms reduced or gone completely. There are about 52 symptoms of the “Breast Implant Illness” that women are experiencing. Many auto immune related.
My daughter explanted in Feb. 2020. She was suffering from 40 of the symptoms, was on disability and was ready to give up on life. She suffered from Chronic Fatigue syndrome and Fibromyalgia severely. After the explant, she is 60% – 70% better and can actually take care of her 3 children now. She was so dependent on me and my husband for daily help because she was so incapacitated from her breast implant illness symptoms.
As for me, I explanted on July 2, 2020. I had breast implants for over 25 years. Now, my vertigo and tinnitus has improved by 50% so far. I am still taking vitamins and watching my diet and exercising but the implants cause “inflammation” in the body and wreak havoc everywhere.
The healing can take up to 1 year but I feel so much healthier.
I just wanted to reach out to you and see if you had heard about this. Maybe you can do research as well and see if you think this information about breast implant illness can be helpful to your audience who are seeking relief or trying to find the root cause of their Meniere’s disease symptoms.
I thank God for finding you years ago so that my life could be more manageable. You have no idea how I appreciate you. Please take care and be healthy and safe during this unsafe time with the present health scare. Much blessings to you.
Respectfully, B.E.”
What really caught me off guard is how many similarities there are between breast implant symptoms and the symptoms of Meniere’s disease.
That really made me question a possible connection between these two conditions. Could your body be reacting to a foreign object so seriously over so many years and still go undetected? Could this explain why your tests were often negative?
You know that my goal is to let people know that they do NOT have to live this way, that there is always a cause for balance symptoms and hearing symptoms.
Breast implant illness is another possible cause to explore. As you know, all implants are considered “foreign bodies” by your own body. So your body will react. And it will react with inflammation to get rid of it. Inflammation is the very first “response” of protection by your immune system.
Please do NOT jump to any conclusions.. I am not saying all of these are bad. I am simply bringing this to your attention for you to explore more. Did you ever even think there could be a connection from a breast implant to a hearing or balance symptom?
Please keep an open mind.
Can you see why I encourage you not to think that Meniere’s disease is not a hopeless, incurable condition?
Do your own thinking about this. Once you have explored this in much more detail, I encourage you to discuss this with your medical practitioner. You may be expanding their sphere of knowledge.
