At the moment, we are living in a vacuum, a state of “uncertainty”. We are told what we can’t do, but we are not encouraged to do things to help ourselves. Yet we are all adults, expected to be capable of running our own lives effectively in “normal” times.
So let’s find ways to live a better and healthier way
Yes, there are a “few blocks” in the way right now, but health is what everyone is looking for, a healthy life after we get back to normal.
I love watching Jamie Oliver. Right now he is teaching us to use whatever foods we have “left over” in our homes, to create wholesome meals. Once again, here it’s all about doing a little to help yourself to BE healthy. It’s really interesting to hear his comments. He is working out of his own home kitchen, just chatting as he works.
He talks about building a healthy immune system, getting some rest and exercise. In other words, looking after your body with very basic, easily managed activities. He isn’t a medical professional. He is simply a regular guy sharing his point of view. He is like you and me. He is like us! Isn’t this pure “prevention?”
You may be reading about the need to wait for a vaccine all the while doing self isolation. Is this really reasonable? You know it will take months of research and testing. Health professionals have done a lot of research and testing and have come to the conclusion that a healthy immune system is one of your best defenses right now. Medical professionals WANT you to BE healthy: they support the idea of maintaining or supporting a strong immune system.
If you are on the supplements we use and talk about, you will know that “supporting a healthy immune system” is their entire purpose. You already know that these include very helpful “antioxidants”. You need to focus on managing a healthy immune system during this stressful time
Do you recall past flu seasons where you were told to stay home, get lots of rest, drinks lots of fluids, and simply treat yourself caringly to get well? In my many years of giving flu shots, I repeated this advice over and over: it has always been part of our nursing principles. And it’s pure common sense.
If you want to know more about the system we use, let me know. If you are already on your own regime, make sure it includes all the required nutrients. Sadly there are many products on the market that do not meet these basic requirements.
