Why We Are Different from the other Meniere’s Disease sites and How We Can Help You
Meniere’s disease is something that we have to live with every day. As a family we have been through some very terrifying moments, so we are very experienced in what you are going through. We understand, first hand, the frustrations involved with living with this horrible disease.
Once you have lived with such a debilitating condition as Meniere’s Disease, you are rather reluctant to try many more remedies. Certainly you learn to distinguish and avoid any “miracle cures”.
Through research for this site, I found many medical sites: some not so helpful, some that had extremely good content. Because of my nursing background, I can pull out helpful and practical information that I think people would trust.
My goal was to write in “an easy to understand” way. Not to insult your intelligence, but so that you can use the information without further research. It will allow you to feel confident and also to help you understand what you face in the medical world.
I am a nurse. I have learned to interpret” the complicated words and procedures that we use in the medical community.
Where does the information come from?
I have gathered all the research material from “mainstream” journals and web sites, such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Medical Centre, etc. I use some doctors’ information and those I chose very carefully.
You won’t find herbal remedies here as I think they create problems for non-medical people. Most of us just don’t know how to use these herbs safely. I think we forget that they are the source and basis for so many drugs.
I also look at everything from the perspective of our immune system. Maybe my idea is too simplistic, but my basic belief is that our immune systems are very capable of looking after our health.
The only thing we must do is to nurture them carefully, because sometimes they become overloaded. So my basic thinking is that we should “fix” our immune systems and then feed them correctly.
That, of course, is the challenge. It’s difficult to know just what to feed them, in what proportions and where to find the best ingredients. Then of course, we need to ensure that our bodies can use what we give them.
Sounds complicated? It’s a bit challenging, but not impossible. If that is your intent you will find this web site and the health articles very helpful.
